  • Gymnastics League Champs!

    Congratulations to the gymnastics team for winning the League Championships!  Grosse Pointe Gymnasts also won multiple individual titles - Isabelle N won the division 1 all-around, vault, bars, and floor championships, Maria N won the division 1 beam and floor championships and Michelle E won the division 2 all-around, bars, and floor titles. Gyanei' J also finished second in division 2 all-around and Brenna B, Chandler M, and Rachel R all medalled in several events.

School News:
It’s back!  College Night returns and will be held at Grosse Pointe South on Thursday, March 5th.  This is a great opportunity to:  Pick up brochures about each attending college, learn about academics, campus life, cost to attend and how to prepare for college.  College Night is open to all students and their parents.  Don’t forget the date – Thursday, March 5th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the gym. 

The deadline for the Mothers' Club scholarship application is fast approaching.  Applications are available on the South website under the Mothers' Club section.  Scholarship applications are now due on Thursday, March 5 at 3:30 p.m. in the Counseling Center. 

AP Students:  The deadline for registering for AP exams is Friday, March 6th.  Get your forms and payment to Mrs. Buckler in the Records Room by Friday, March 6th.

Juniors, on Tuesday, March 3 you will take the ACT assessment. Room assignments are posted in the first cross hall in the main building and outside the Library in the S-Building. Plan to arrive no later than 8:00 a.m. and report to your assigned room. Remember to bring photo ID, pencils and an approved calculator. No cell phones are allowed; please leave them in your car or locker.  No school for grades 9-10-12 on Tuesday, March 3.

Juniors and seniors!  UM Dearborn sponsors an Engineering and Computer Science contest in March and you can win a scholarship or cash prizes.  See Ms. Dolson in room 215 for details.

There will be no library usage during MME testing for lunches and tutorials Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Computer access will be available before and after school in lab 254.

Attention all interested Pointe Players and South Thespians! It's time again for the Grosse Pointe Theatre Scholarship Auditions - Saturday, April 25th at 315 Fisher Rd at 10:00 am. All applications must be received no later than April 15th, 2015. Forms are on the Pointe Players and GPT website.  See Ms. Dunham with any questions - go win that money!

Club News:
Come see the One Acts – tonight in the South’s auditorium at 7:30 p.m.! Directed by 4 members of your senior class, the One Act Plays are sure to make you smile!

All hoop fans: GP South Boys’ basketball plays at GP North tonight.  Please support the team by purchasing and wearing a Beat North t-shirt which can be purchased during both lunches for $5.00.

The Grosse Pointe Blue Dolphins Synchronized Swimming team has a double header this weekend against Troy today at 6pm and both Ann Arbor high schools tomorrow morning. This weekend marks the start of our team's journey to the Michigan High School Synchronized Swimming routine state championship on March 12th. Good luck this weekend, girls! We're rooting for you! 

The Boys hockey team beat Port Huron last night 5-0.  Goals were scored by: Will Poplawski, 2 by Adam Pitters, Cam Mogk and Jonathan Theros. The Blue Devils take on Utica Eisenhower on Saturday night at 7:15 PM at Suburban Ice Arena in Macomb.
