Daily News for May 22, 2015

School News:
Seniors – It’s time to return all your library books! No cap and gown in June until your library account is clear.

Seniors:  Need your final transcripts sent to your college?  Don’t forget to fill out the form in the CRC or the Counseling Center!

A list of students who have signed up for the All Night Party is posted outside of Mrs. Spencer’s office near the main office.  Please check to make sure you have signed up.  We want all seniors to participate in this fun evening!

Students attending prom:  Please remember to bring your South student ID to the event.  If you are bringing a guest that does not go to South, please have him or her bring a picture ID, as well.

Seniors: The War Memorial asks for your assistance this year in the matter of prom photos at the War Memorial.  Every year we encounter students and parents wanting to take their photos on the lawn and in the gardens.  Although we are thrilled that they appreciate the beauty surrounding the War Memorial, we cannot allow this due to previously scheduled wedding ceremonies.  It can be quite disruptive and is not fair to our patrons on their very special day.

Club News:
Students: If you need to pick up your yearbook or purchase one, they are in room 118 in the IA building.  Please check outside the door for times.  The cost of the yearbook is $75.00 each. Checks payable to Grosse Pointe South

The annual Faculty vs senior softball game will be Monday, June 1st at 4:00 on the boy’s diamond. Seniors go to room 225 to sign-up!

Table Tennis Club will have a tournament on Wednesday, June 3 at 3:15pm. It is a one game elimination tournament with random seeding. If you wish to play in the tournament and have ultimate ping pong bragging rights, please put your name on the sign-up sheet outside of Mr. Kim’s classroom (room 266). The sign up deadline is Tuesday June 2nd. You can be a newcomer or a loyal member, all are welcome!

Sports:
FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS-  if you are interested in playing field hockey next year, join us for a parent and player meeting on Thursday, May 28th at 7 p.m. in the Commons. You will receive summer work outs, meet the coaches, learn about camp, and get the details for next season (Aug. 10th start)! If you have any questions contact Coach Monica Dennis.  Thanks and see you there.
