School News:
Seniors: If you need an updated transcript or new grades sent to the colleges that you are applying to then stop by the counseling center records office to request  them to be sent.  It takes just 30 seconds.

AP registration will be done online for 2016 and the deadline is March 4th. Students can log in from the South's home page. If they have any questions please see Mrs. Williams in records.

The results are in!  Those of you that completed a matchmaker survey, the results are now available.  Stop by the main hallway during both lunches through Friday.  The Matchomatics printouts will be available for just $2 each. 

All students interested in participating in the first ever Grosse Pointe South versus Grosse Pointe North Dodgeball Marathon, signups for the event will begin after break. Start assembling your 6 to 8 person team now!

Club News: 
Poets: The Grosse Pointe Public Library is having an open-mic and poetry slam on March 14th. See Campion in 293 for further details.

French Club members: Please join us for a meeting this Friday morning at 7:30, in Madame Moon's room.

Come to gay-straight alliance meeting today after school in the library, and new members are always welcome.

Pointe Players - the Junior Thespian Festival needs a few good people to lead and assist Middle Students at the State Festival on March 5th at North High School. It’ll be fun, rewarding, you will earn points for participating, and we’ll feed you lunch! See Ms. Dunham for details.

There will be a brief Interact meeting after school today in Mr. Cox's room.  We will be discussing upcoming service opportunities so please join us if you would like to have fun and get more service hours.

Those girls trying out for Varsity and JV Tennis, please plan on attending a quick meeting after school on Tuesday, February 23 in the Commons. The meeting will start promptly at 3:15 PM

BASEBALL PLAYERS! Anyone who did not attend the meeting yesterday needs to pick up tryout materials at: Then you need to get the Player Information Sheet to Coach Griesbaum ASAP.  You will not be included in tryouts if you do not pre-register. 

The Frosh boys play their final conference road game today.  The tip off will be at 5:30 versus the Utica Chieftains. Good Luck Team!

Dear Hoop Fans: Varsity Boys’ improved their record to 11-3 with a 70-60 road victory over Chippewa Valley.  The Blue Devils were led by Brennan Buszka with 28, Michael Calcaterra with 13, Jack Maher with 11, and Zane Draper with 7.  The win keeps South in first place.  Please support the team over break.  The next home game will be Tuesday, February 16 at 7:00.

The wrestling team will be hosting districts today at 5:30. We will be facing Lakeview at 5:30 and we will face North second for our third straight district title. It should be a competitive match coming off last weekend’s conference tournament where Jon Gough took first at 189 and also won mac MVP Tyler Tompson won at the 125 weight class, Joseph Kurta took 3rd at 152, Joanah Cunningham took 3rd at 103, John Drew also placed 5th at the 130 weight class. Please come out and watch South’s wrestling team attempt to make history and win districts 3 times in a row.

The Girls Varsity hockey team destroyed Ann Arbor Pioneer last night with a score of 8-0.  Bella Strickler and Bridget Donaldson combined forces for the shutout.  Notable goals scored were from Cailey Paull, Grace Moody, Hannah Miller – who scored with a wicked slapshot from the blueline.  The girls take on archrival Cranbrooke tonight at GPCR at 4pm.  Come out and support your girls Varsity hockey team tonight.  GPCR rink is right behind McDonalds off of Canyon Street.  Good luck girls!
