I am very excited to continue my role as the Principal at Pierce Middle School, and I would like to share my background in the field of education with you. I attended Gaylord Public Schools (K-12) and graduated from Gaylord High School in 1986. I moved on to Albion College where I earned a degree in education in 1990, with certification in History and English. I began my teaching career at Gaylord High School in 1990, and I earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University. My administrative career began in 1993 when I was named as the Athletic Director at Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores. That position eventually evolved to include the Assistant Principal position, and I was hired as the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Grosse Pointe North High School in 2000. In 2006, I moved to the Assistant Principal position at Brownell Middle School, and in 2014 I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to become the Pierce Middle School Principal. I'm very thankful to have the opportunity to work with such an outstanding school community. I currently live in Grosse Pointe park and I have three children who currently attend Grosse Pointe Public Schools.
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the Assistant Principal of Pierce Middle School. I would like to take this opportunity to share some information about myself. I began my teaching career as a social studies teacher at Waverly High School in Lansing. After two successful years at Waverly, I returned home to the Metro Detroit area and continued my career as a social studies teacher at Allen Park. During my time at Allen Park I also attended Wayne State University where I earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership. In the fall of 2004, I joined the staff of Grosse Pointe Public schools as the Coordinator of the Community High School. In September 2006, I was honored to join the staff of Pierce Middle School as Assistant Principal.
