Parcells Pride!

GOING GREEN
In the months of January and February, we recycled 2,275 pounds of paper and cardboard, saving almost three and a half cubic yards of landfill space. That’s an area about the size of a 12x12 bedroom – in just two months. We’ve saved 18 trees, three and a half barrels of oil, almost 8,000 gallons of water, and 4,600 kilowatt hours of electricity that would have been required to create the same amount of new paper. CONGRATULATIONS PARCELLS! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

LEGO ROBOTICS
Our Lego Robotics team, along with Mr. Ron Kornas, attended its first competition in November 2008. The competed against 48 teams in Sterling Heights. The students were prepared but didn't know what to expect. "We did not place, but I was so impressed with my students in the way they handled themselves and organized themselves, as well as in the items that had to get done. We were ready for every phase of the competition," Kornas said. Parcells has about 15 students on the team. The program has recently garnered a small grant from The Grosse Pointe Foundation for Academic Enrichment, which will be used primarily for entry fees for the competition.
