The Department of Student Services

Hayes

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I want to introduce myself to those of you whom I have not met yet.  My name is Stefanie Hayes, and I am the new Director of Student Services.  I have seven years of administrative experience in education, and I have been working with families and students with disabilities for over 15 years.  Prior to being hired in GPPS, I was a special education supervisor for three years in Birmingham Public Schools.

I am excited to be working in this new position, and of course, in a great district like Grosse Pointe.  I know we have amazing families, students, and staff.  My efforts the first few months will be to get to know everyone, to listen and learn about our department, and to communicate with all stakeholders. I am looking forward to working with the special education staff as we continue to partner with parents and students to provide efficient and purposeful services for your son or daughter.

As we move forward, I will continue to share my beliefs that our department needs to be:
  • student-centered
  • data-driven
  • transparent in our efforts
  • collaborative in our relationships, and
  • communicative with all stakeholders

I look forward to working with you.  Please contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns via email at Stefanie.Hayes@gpschools.org or by telephone at (313) 432-3851.

Sincerely,

Stefanie Hayes, Ed.S.
