Grosse Pointe Safety Town

Safety Town Thank you for considering “Safety Town” as part of your family’s summer plans.  Safety Town was created for the purpose of   equipping children for a lifetime of safe living.  Your Safety Town camper will be educated in traffic, bicycle, home, water and fire safety, as well as litter prevention and recycling.

Safety Town is a national program that teaches young children about safety and good citizenship. Topics include traffic, bicycle, home water and fire safety, as well as litter prevention and recycling. Through songs, videos and classroom exercises, your child will learn correct safety vocabulary, traffic light colors, the difference between left and right, how to "stop, drop and roll" in case of fire, when and how to dial 911, and much more. Classroom instruction is augmented by practice sessions in the Safety Town miniature village and Fire Safety House located at Barnes Early Childhood Center 20090 Morningside Dr., Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.

Who can attend?

The Safety Town program is geared  toward children entering kindergarten or first grade in the fall.
