Need help in preparing for the SAT? Link your College Board account to the Kahn Academy where you can receive helpful remediation and support specific to your fall PSAT scores. There are also practice tests available which provide you with an explanation of how problems were solved.
Do you want to Hack a computer and win a prize? Are you the best Hacker at South? Test your skills against other students during The 2nd Annual Raspberry Pi Hack Contest kicking off this week. Sign up your team in room 292 with Mr. Provenzano this week before all of the space have been filled. There will be a meeting on Thursday March 30 in room 292 to get your hacker kit. The mother’s club will be having Scholarship interviews beginning on Tuesday, April 18th. Seniors who submitted a Mothers’ Club scholarship application to stop by the counseling center to sign up for an interview time.
ALL students currently taking a Spanish class at South! World Language Week will be April 24th-28th this year and we have some great t-shirts to represent the Spanish language!! The online cart closes on April 3rd so don’t miss out on getting this cool new shirt and participating in World Language Week with your classmates!
Auditions for the 2017/18 Choirs will be held this week. All current high school students are invited to audition for the award-winning choral ensembles at South that include, Sounds of South, South Singers, The Tower Belles and The Pointe Singers. If you are not a current student in choir, but would like to audition for one of the choirs, please come to open auditions on Wednesday in the South Choir Room (Room 23) at 3:15 PM. Audition packets are available online at www.gpsouthchoir.org or you can pick-up information in the choir room.

The Spanish Club will be selling unique, colorful, hand-woven bracelets, called pulseras in Spanish, for only $5 during both lunches all this week. Come get your bracelet! The Pulsera Project is a non-profit organization that educates, empowers and connects Nicaraguan artists with students across the United States.

The Men’s Track team opened the season at the Macomb Indoor Championships yesterday in a field of 10 teams. ED KOTULA PLACED 4TH IN HURDLES AND CHARLIE CIELESKA WAS 8TH. NATE VORHEES TOOK 6TH IN THE MILE. MEDALISTS INCLUDED 600 METER CHAMPION BASHER ABOULJOUD. HE ALSO PLACED 4TH IN LONG JUMP. ALSO TAKING 1ST WAS THE 4 X 800 RELAY POPPED BY SASHA SZURA, MATT OLIVER, NATE BARBISH AND BLAKE WEAVER. 2ND PLACE SILVER WAS WON BY ORONDE BRANCH IN 300 M & ROCK WILLIAMSON IN THE 3200 M RUN
