    Orchestra 2015

    Congratulations to the Grosse Pointe South High School Symphony Orchestra who received straight, First Division (Superior) ratings on May 2, 2015 at the MSBOA State Band & Orchestra Festival held at Ann Arbor Skyline High School.  The South Symphony Orchestra performed an adjudicated  program of music including Simple Symphony by Benjamin Britten, Of Glorious Plumage by Richard Meyer and the Serenade for Strings of Piotr Tchaikovsky and also participated in adjudicated sight-reading.

Daily News - October 2nd

School News:
Come out to the front lawn today at lunch to participate in Unity Day games! Student Association will be running games like bean bag toss and wiffle ball, and we have some great prizes including TCBY gift cards and school store coupons. See you there!

Homecoming News:
All freshmen are invited to represent the class of 2019 and march with the homecoming float in the parade!  Arrive at Maire Elementary (Cadieux & Kercheval) beginning at 5:15 p.m.  The parade begins at 6:00 with the game starting at 7:00.  And don't forget to show your Class of 2019 pride and wear your Farmer Freshmen spirit shirts!

Juniors: Make sure to be at the Marie Parking Lot by 5:30 to march in the parade with your class. Make sure to wear your spirit shirt!!

Homecoming tickets will be sold in the Main Hallway during both lunches!

The penny jar results: Freshmen= -4.68 lbs, Sophomores= -4.46 lbs, Juniors= -5.42 lbs and Seniors= -1.77 lbs. Just a reminder that today is the last day to donate all of your change and dollar bills for Penny Jar.  Money can be donated up until the end of 2nd lunch.  All of the money will be donated in honor Alex Peabody, so get your loose change and donate!

Club News:
Pointe Players! There will be meeting to discuss our participation in the Michigan Thespian Festival – NEXT Wednesday, October 7th @ 3:15 in the auditorium – it’ll be brief! The Festival runs December 3-5, 2015 @ Saginaw Valley State University. Join us for information on individual events, workshops, performances, scholarships & auditions! ALL are welcome - see you then!

South’s Archery Club will begin its fall season beginning Monday. No experience or equipment is required. Join this fun and fast growing sport. Archery Club will meet on Monday’s at 7:00 pm in the Gym at Maire Elementary School. All are welcome. See Mr. Bouda if you have questions

Students: Kickoff for the homecoming football game is at 7 PM.  Please, remember to leave your backpacks and outside beverages at home.  We look forward to seeing you all at the game-go South.
