    This week the rankings by US News and by Washington Post were both released. In the Washington Post, North ranked 13th in Michigan (1041 in nation) and South ranked 15th in Michigan (1081 in nation)!

    The Brownell Middle School Counseling Program has met the criteria to become a Recognized American School Counselor Association Model Program.

    GPPSS releases results of voluntary water testing

    Water Testing Quick Facts: 1. 92.3% of the 130 sites sampled were clear within the EPA guidelines; 2. 8 of the 10 action level sites were clear after a 2-minute flush; 3. All problem fountains were disconnected last weekend; 4. A plumber has been hired to replace all 10 faucets/fountain components this week and then we will re-test; 5. All staff have been instructed to run water for 2 minutes prior to use for consumption; 6. All staff will not allow students to drink from classroom “bubblers” (drinking fountains connected to classroom sinks); 7. Bubblers will be capped as soon as possible; 8. Re-tests from identified fountains and sinks for student consumption are due this week; 9. Families concerned about lead or copper levels should contact their health care provider and ask about testing or health implications or call Wayne County Environmental Health at 734-727-2216; 10.The district will continue to test sample locations on a rotating schedule moving forward; 11. This was a voluntary effort to keep our students and staff safe.

  •  GPPSS hosts Town Halls

    GPPSS hosts Town Halls

    The Grosse Pointe Public School System has been hosting Town Hall meetings to explore options to achieve goals set forth in the district’s new strategic plan. These meetings have been held at North and South High Schools, and Parcells Middle School. Additional Town Halls will be posted as they are scheduled.

  • New Lunch Procedure

    GPPS will be offering an alternative meal (cheese sandwich, vegetable/fruit and milk) for students that have a negative lunch balance of over $5.00. The charges for the alternative lunch will be the same as regular lunch.

  • Green Team matching grant about to end - donate today for plastics recycling

    GPPSS is participating in a district-wide fundraiser with Local Motion Green at the Ecology Center to place plastic recycling bins on each ball field and school property.
